Frequently asked questions

What is bonded cellular contribution?

Bonded contribution combines several mobile and network connections (4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, satellite) into one stable transmission path. With LiveU units such as LU800, LU300 and LU-Smart you can go live from the field to the studio with low latency and seamless failover.

What is SRT and when is it used?

SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is a protocol for secure video transport over the open internet, with encryption and error correction (ARQ). We build SRT-based contribution and distribution with Haivision Makito encoders.

What is the difference between SMPTE ST 2110 and NDI?

ST 2110 is the broadcast standard for uncompressed video, audio and data over IP in production environments. NDI is a lighter IP video protocol common in streaming and AV production. We build workflows with both, including with FOR-A.

Can EnterCast deliver a complete live streaming solution?

Yes. We deliver everything from single LiveU units to complete IP-based production control rooms and flypacks, install on site, train operators and provide support and service agreements in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

How do you protect a live broadcast against outages?

With redundant transmission paths, bonded connectivity with automatic failover, monitoring and service agreements with guaranteed response times. This is standard in our solutions for sports, news and events.
